Vala Where Were We?

Partnering with Vala Sustainability to produce a film detailing their ethically responsible investment funds, the work is built around a single conceptual question: “Where Were We?” — a poetic, soul-searching inquiry into our collective responsibility during this critical environmental era.

Targeting sophisticated investors, the narrative takes a retrospective look at how the historical pursuit of profit has frequently come at the cost of the planet’s health. Moving away from traditional narration, a powerful and internationally diverse voice was chosen to deliver the message — blending cinematic footage, CGI and stark environmental data to transition from a critique of past greed into a hopeful rallying cry. The film ultimately illustrates how Vala harnesses global investment to drive the innovation and sustainability necessary to improve lives and the environment, while maintaining healthy returns.
